The Kaweah Groundwater Communication Portal (GCP) tracks meetings and other events related to the implementation of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) in the Kaweah groundwater basin.
The purpose of the GCP is to encourage active participation of groundwater users in development of Groundwater Sustainability Plans (GSPs) for the basin. Use the GCP to participate in the following ways:
The three Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs) developing GSPs for the Kaweah Basin are discussed below.
East Kaweah Groundwater Sustainability Agency
The East Kaweah GSA consists of nine member entities including City of Lindsay, County of Tulare, Exeter
Irrigation District, Ivanhoe Irrigation District, Lindmore Irrigation District, Lindsay-Strathmore
Irrigation District, Stone Corral Irrigation District, Sentinel Butte Mutual Water Company, and Wutchumna
Water Company.
Greater Kaweah Groundwater Sustainability Agency
The Greater Kaweah GSA includes Kaweah Delta Water Conservation District, Kings County Water District,
Lakeside Irrigation Water District, St. Johns Water District, Tulare County, and California Water Service Company.
Mid Kaweah Groundwater Sustainability Agency
The Mid-Kaweah GSA is comprised of partnering agencies including the City of Visalia, the City of Tulare,
and the Tulare Irrigation District.
